switching majors from computer engineering technology to computer/information sciences?

im going to a technical school now for an AS in computer engineering technology and i plan on transferring after i graduate for computer/information systems. both of the colleges are in the same city. is it possible to transfer like this? will i have to spend an extra two years taking classes?

Since the two majors you have chose are related, there is a good chance that the two programs will require courses that overlap with each other. For example, a degree in computer engineering will probably require you to take a couple math courses. A degree in computer IT systems would probably require the same courses. I would highly doubt you would have to start over entirely, you may need to just take a few courses specific to Information systems. Talk to an enrollment counselor at the school you wish to transfer to, to see what you will need to take to complete the new degree. This way you will know specifically what you need to do, and how long it will take. Good luck!
