howcome my computer doesnt start up sometimes?
Im having a problem with my computer. For some reason, whenever i open my computer sometimes, the computer fails to start up and all i get is a black screen after the windows XP loading screen. The problem has occurred before, but i think now it has gotten worse. Sometimes, even my cd rw drive fails to load up but my computer starts up fine. I feel as if this problem occurred as a result of plugging a microphone on the front of the computer or probably when i saved backups on a cd, and when i restarted the computer, the computer didnt start up. I still have doubts that the microphone caused the problem and i have no clue where the problem is coming from. Any help would be greatly honored. I have Windows XP home edition service pack 2.
When you bring your PC up shut off power management junk altogether unless this is a laptop. Power management junk tends to make computers act in very weird ways.. This resolved several issues on one of my systems that is running XPHE..
XP Home edition is a cobble, and has many known bugs.
If you have backups of your data and installation cds of your programs format your drive and reinstall an OS. I’d recommend XP Pro Service Pack 2. As with most Microsoft products bug fixes are prevalent in SP2 revisions. XP Home addition is kind of the Windows ME of today. It is a piece of work.
