Teaching Advanced Students Over The Summer… Math Labs Ideas, Anyone?
Okay, so, for like, being supeer intelligent, I was asked to teach an algebra I class to High Tech (they’re into computers and engineering) students who want to get ahead in their math careers. Well, it begins later on this month and runs to mid-August, where they must be advanced proficient on the test in order to qualify. …Also involved are weekly test and averages at the end. Basically, I have to teach a year’s time in a month’s time. 3 hours a day, five days a week — but as I find myself doing a lesson plan, which must be approved, I’m running out of ideas.. each day, I want to do an activity/lab (no boring days in my class!), and I’m at a dead end..
any ideas? (x_x math isn’t my favorite subject in the world, but I’m good at it, and it’s the only class a student is allowed to teach, so I’m feeling a bit out of place.
