Yeah I have a Inspiron 1501 Dell Laptop I need the LAN drivers but for Xubuntu OS.It takes a long time to load when I turn it on and I bearly installed it but like when I shut it down a black screen comes up saying shuting down,Terminal.Which is the fastest Linux I have DSL (Damn Small Linux) but i mean another one.Is fedora good
It sounds to me like your installation is not working properly (i.e. it is screwed up). I run Ubuntu and Sabayon on a laptop and a desktop, and they both load & shutdown much faster than XP or Vista. If you have to run Xubuntu, try reintalling it.
Fedora 8 has had very good reviews, but I switched to Ubuntu (a long time ago) because RPM was much more problematic than DEB. I find the synaptic file management to be very easy, effective, and no hassle.
