Having trouble deciding on a laptop?
I store and edit alot of photos, and I love playing the Sims games. I only have about 8-900$ to spend on a new laptop. I have found some with 4gb ram and 500gb hd. but the reviews are not so great on the ones that I found. Would a 320 gb hard drive be suffecient for what i plan to use it for? That is all I do on a pc other than surfing the internet. Any and all help would be much appreciated. My last laptop was a compaq presario and there was constant manufacturer defaults going wrong with it intil it finally just went out. I had it for almost 3 years. So I need a reliable one because it really sucks to lose all of your photos of family that you can never get back. Luckily I had most all them backed up onto disks except for the last ones taken, but now those are gone.
Get a new laptop already, then.
Also, your files were not “lost”. They are still on the hard drive from your current laptop, unless you formatted the drive, or somehow nuked it physically in a fire or something.
You can buy a small USB enclosure for your laptop hard drive for $10 which will let you access those files again. I have one and it works very well.
Also, I just recently purchased an excellent laptop (Turion X2, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD) for $350. Your budget is PLENTY for a new laptop. Just go buy one. If it sucks, take it back.
