Accidental Empires: How the Boys of Silicon Valley Make Their Millions, Battle Foreign Competition and Still Don’t Get a Date by Robert X. Cringely
These two books are what I studied from when at Uni, buy these and you will be an expert on Internet and Computer history respectively. They are also quite funny containing stories about Bill Gates and the Cactus as well as Bill Gates and the Ice cream story! Trust me buy/rent them asap.
